PRIDE AND PREJUDICE

The novel “Pride and prejudice” was written by Jane Austen in the late 18^th century. That period was a period was a period when male members dominated in the society. The novel got it’s position in history because it was written by a woman. A woman who wrote and read novels was considered as a spoilt one by the society

In those days the women were not allowed chose their husbands, instead the parents choose for them, a man who was just rich and no matter what his character was. The novel was an eye opener to the society since, the father of the family, unlike his wife never insisted on marrying rich man but he was interested in marrying men whom they loved and would live happily ever after.
